Garden design lecturer to speak at CDPL

Karen Mitchell, buyer horticulture extension specialist from the Purdue University School of Agriculture, will present a lecture at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 on Backyard garden Design and Prep at the Crawfordsville District Community Library in the Donnelley Space A.

The dialogue is the next of a 4-section speaker series hosted by the Montgomery County Master Gardener Association in collaboration with CDPL to market the Seed Library. Registration is recommended, but not needed.

Mitchell retains a bachelor’s degree in used horticulture and horticultural business services and a master’s degree in botany and plant pathology from Purdue. She has created various content articles for the Landscape Report and for HortScience, a peer-reviewed science journal by the American Culture for Horticultural Science. She has been a guest speaker at the Indiana Flower and Patio Clearly show and hosted quite a few palms-on workshops for Indiana gardeners. Professionally, she was the Tippecanoe  Extension agriculture and pure methods educator for 6 several years past to her current part in the Section of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
